During the restoration of the old Bombas Gens factory, an underground shelter was discovered, built during the Civil War, when the Bombas Gens ovens stopped making hydraulic machinery and switched to building war material, such as grenades and mortar bombs. The purpose of the shelter was to house the factory workers and protect them from possible bomb attacks from national army planes or ships.

It corresponds to a type of factory shelter and had a capacity of approximately thirty to forty people. Because of its defensive military nature, it has a solid reinforced concrete construction that meets the standards for this type of structure, and is therefore underground, with a separate entrance and exit, and contains elements that protect the interior from damage caused by the blast wave and shrapnel from a bomb that might explode nearby.

Inside, the shelter consists of a rectangular room that is almost intact, painted with a grey base and white and yellow decorative lines, together with various blue signs that were used to give directions to the refugees. The shelter has been completely restored and equipped for our guided tours, a journey into the past that is a portrait of an era.
